In a podcast style discussion, Mike Corvino, PharmD and Cole Swanson, PharmD examine the management of Crohn’s disease and its association with an increased risk for colon cancer. They review how to identify these patients and available medications used to treat this disease. Pharmacists and nurses regularly encounter these patients and many are not aware of the increased cancer risk. It is important that pharmacists and nurses understand this disease and are able to recognize the common therapies. This session seeks to explore these topics, focusing on how this information can best be incorporated into daily medical practice.
