As pharmacists’ roles transition to more clinically-focused tasks, technicians have an opportunity to assume expanded roles and responsibilities, including technician product verification (TPV). This series will focus on equipping the technician with necessary skills for product verification, including knowledge of common medications, calculations, dosage forms and routes of administration, medication safety, and legal issues pertaining to TPV.

As pharmacists’ roles transition to more clinically-focused tasks, technicians have an opportunity to assume expanded roles and responsibilities, including technician product verification (TPV). This series will focus on equipping the technician with the necessary skills for product verification, including knowledge of common medications, calculations, dosage forms and routes of administration, medication safety, and legal issues pertaining to TPV.
This series is developed based on the blueprint for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s Technician Product Verification Certificate. Additionally, pharmacy technicians who complete this series will be prepared to sit for that assessment.
