Description
One of the sections of larger pharmacies that most pharmacists shy away from is the home health care section. Most pharmacists are comfortable selling a urinal or sitz bath, however, very few received the training needed to sell the ambulation devices. With the help of Clinton Bieswenger, an Occupational Therapist from St. Francis University, this course will help boost pharmacist confidence in fitting crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. Since 6 of 10 major falls occur in the home, this session will also delve into home safety tips, especially bathroom safety. A thorough discussion on humidifiers, proper care, and whether to even recommend them will wrap up this one-hour course.
