Because the community pharmacy dermatology aisles are so massive, it will take two units to cover all the products. This unit will cover a lot of common ailments, sunscreens, and then application hints. Community pharmacists also receive a lot of questions about head lice and bed bugs and often experience the patient’s frustration in evicting these “critters” from their homes. During this program, the participant should gain insight into the resistance issues in the eradication of these pests. During the hotter months, the community pharmacist may be asked more questions about poison ivy than most other skin conditions, so this session will also discuss treatment and prevention of this common issue.
