Stephanie Langston teaches Spanish at Georgia State University Perimeter College both face-to-face at the Newton campus and online. She leads Spanish instructor trainings at the college and was the first Spanish Instructor to teach online. She also taught for the Georgia Institute of Technology and Oxford College of Emory University. She presents at scholarly conferences and at universities across the country on a regular basis on topics related to online teaching and learning and on strategies for language learning. Stephanie is the President, Curriculum Director and Lead Instructor of Hands on Spanish, Inc. (www.handsonspanish.com). Her company’s programs include “Pharmacy Spanish” (approved for 12 hours of ACPE credit), “Spanish for Nurses” (20 hours of ANCC credit), “Spanish for the Courts,” “WeBspañol” (an online conversational tutorial) and “Uno, Dos, Tres” (a Spanish program for children). The programs are offered online at www.handsonspanish.com in multi-media format. She also led the development of 200 hours of Spanish curriculum customized for the Immigration and Customs Enforcements Agents of the Department of Homeland Security. New agents must take and pass the Spanish course in order to proceed with their training.?She has developed curriculum for the Institute for Continuing Judicial Education, the Georgia Center at the University of Georgia, the College of Pharmacy at the University of Georgia, the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, the National Pharmacist Technician Association, and the Florida College of Advanced Judicial studies, among other organizations. Her clients include CVS/Pharmacy, Horizon Software, Kroger Pharmacy, AT&T and over 40 public and private elementary schools in the Atlanta area. Her co-providers of CE include AMN Healthcare, CECity and Pharmcon.While in college, Stephanie worked as a Pharmacy Technician and Interpreter. She frequently volunteers her interpreting services in her local community and provides her programs free of charge to medical missionaries and outreach volunteers. The University of Georgia sends pharmacy students each year to volunteer time and service to the South Georgia Farm Workers program, largely serving Hispanics living in that area. They utilize her Pharmacy Spanish online program. The California Health Sciences University also use Pharmacy Spanish. The University of Missouri Kansas City offers her Medical Spanish online course as an elective for their medical students.
