Pharmacy technicians play an important role in making sure that pharmacies in all settings run safely and efficiently. Understanding the principles of supply chain and inventory management is critical to that goal. In this course, pharmacy technicians will learn about laws and regulations that govern the safety and security of the drug supply chain, the type and purpose of various supply chain entities, and processes and practices associated with inventory management, including documentation, recording keeping, and compliance requirements. This course will allow technicians to obtain a solid foundation in supply chain and inventory management and prepare them to take a leadership role in their practice settings.
This series is developed based on the blueprint for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s Supply Chain and Inventory Management Certificate, and pharmacy technicians who complete this series will be prepared to sit for that assessment.
