In a podcast style discussion, Mike Corvino, PharmD and Cole Swanson, PharmD examine treatment of an acute gout attack as well as maintenance treatment. Gout is a common condition affecting many individuals. There is new safety data available for some older medications in addition to the approval of other newer medications. Pharmacists and nurses regularly encounter patients with gout. It is important that pharmacists and nurses understand the appropriate use of these medications and know how to identify patients who could benefit from them. This session seeks to explore these topics, focusing on how this information can best be incorporated into daily medical practice.
